N-乙酰-L-苯丙氨酸具有消炎、防止蛋白质变性和聚集、高效保湿以及消除自由基的功能,因此也具有非常好的生物医药开发潜力。
用途N-乙酰-L-苯丙氨酸已经被尝试用于治疗多种炎症反应,如过敏性鼻炎、过敏性皮炎、慢性阻塞性肺病、急性咽喉炎以及炎症性肠炎。
合成在常规低压加氢器(Parr Inst.Co.,Mod.3911)中,在受控的压力和温度条件下进行N-乙酰基-(S)-苯基甲酯的催化加氢。使用甲醇作为溶剂,并加入20mL 0.80M底物溶液、0.034g顺式-Δ-(R)-(S)-2.5H₂O(方案1),初始氢气压力为6.8atm,温度为50-70°C。向反应混合物中加入甲醇(99%,Scharlau)、氢气(99.999% SEO),并滴加乙酰乙酸甲酯和1-己烯。在减压和低温下蒸馏混合物,并添加衣康酸二甲酯、2-乙酰氨基丙烯酸甲酯。用三氟化硼-甲醇络合物(Merck)回流反应混合物,随后使用Konik-3000气相色谱纯化产物,该气相色谱配有Supelco(BETA DEX 120)β-环糊精手性柱。最终得到产物N-乙酰-L-苯丙氨酸。
生物活性N-乙酰-L-苯丙氨酸是危险的苯基丙氨酸两性代谢物。
