2006年,加利福尼亚大学伯克利分校的一个研究团队报道了一项重要进展:他们通过工程酿酒酵母(Saccharomyces cerevisiae)发酵生产了前体青蒿酸。在合成生物学的帮助下,科研人员使用改进的甲羟戊酸途径,使酵母细胞表达紫穗槐二烯合成酶和细胞色素P450氧化酶(CYP71AV1),这两种酶均来源于工程菌大肠杆菌。经过三步氧化反应,最终生成了青蒿酸,并可以将其传出、纯化并进一步转化为青蒿素。
生物活性青蒿酸(qing hao acid),又称倍半萜,在黄花蒿中被分离得到,具有多种药理活性,包括抗疟活性、抗肿瘤活性、解热作用、抗菌活性、化感作用和抗脂肪生成作用。
化学性质青蒿酸是一种白色结晶粉末,可溶于甲醇、乙醇、DMSO等有机溶剂。该化合物来源于菊科植物黄花蒿。
用途青蒿酸具有抗炎和调节免疫的作用,并可用于含量测定、鉴定以及药理实验等领域。其主要药理药效包括抗疟疾和杀虫活性。
