2,6-二乙基苯胺在水中不溶,但易溶于多种有机溶剂,如乙醇、乙醚、苯和甲苯等。它是一种弱碱性化合物,能够与强酸反应生成相应的盐,并且可以被氧化剂氧化,形成相应的氧化产物。
化学性质2,6-二乙基苯胺常态下为油状液体,熔点3~4℃,沸点114℃/1.34kPa,折射率(20)N.D 1.5460,相对密度0.906,沸程123℃。它能溶于苯、乙醇、氯仿等有机溶剂。
用途该化合物是重要的有机合成中间体,广泛应用于制造染料、医药、香料和农药等领域。此外,它还可以作为汽油抗爆剂替代四乙基铅。以2,6-二乙基苯胺为原料生产的除草剂甲草胺主要用于玉米、大豆和花生等作物的杂草防除;丁草胺则用于水稻田除草。这两种除草剂每公顷用量1-4kg,具有良好的除草效果和较长的持效期,是国际上性能较好且产量较大的新型除草剂。2,6-二乙基苯胺还可以生产丙草胺,并应用于橡胶助剂及石油化工领域。
用途2,6-二乙基苯胺用作重要的农药、染料及医药中间体,主要作为酰胺类除草剂甲草胺、丁草胺和丙草胺的原料。
生产方法2,6-二乙基苯胺可通过苯胺与乙烯在催化剂作用下进行烷基化反应制得。生产流程有连续和间断两种。常用的催化剂包括三乙基铝、二乙基氯化铝、三氯化铝加铝粉或铝屑等。原料消耗定额为:苯胺(≥99.6%)695kg/t,乙烯(≥99.9%)470kg/t,铝粉(≥99.7%)14.5kg/t,三氯化铝(≥99%)44kg/t,氢氧化钠溶液(42%)91kg/t,硫酸(93%)60kg/t。
