制备方法与用途

化学性质
熔点为52-55℃，沸点为163-164℃（1.33kPa），折射率为nD20 1.4672，相对密度为1.020。

用途
主要用于有机合成中间体。

生产方法
将400克薄荷醇（2.56摩尔）溶解于1升甲苯中，加入70克金属钠（3.04摩尔），加热回流15小时后除去过量的钠。随后滴加95克氯乙酸（1.01摩尔）溶于800毫升甲苯的溶液，继续搅拌并回流48小时。用清水提取反应混合物，提取液使用20%盐酸进行酸化处理，粗制的氧基乙酸会形成褐色油状物并聚集在上层。通过减压蒸馏可进一步提纯粗品，最终得到166-180克产品，收率为78%-84%。
