  Enantioselective total synthesis of (+)-isoboonein, an iridoid lactone, was accomplished from (-)-dimenthyl bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene-2, 3-dicarboxylate, which was synthesized by diastereoselective Diels-Alder reaction of dimenthyl fumarate with cyclopentadiene.

  (-)-dimenthyl bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene-2, 3-dicarboxylate 是由富马酸二imenthyl fumarate 与环戊二烯的非对映选择性 Diels-Alder 反应合成的。

  From the bark of Rauwolfia grandiflora a new monoterpenoid delta-lactone, isoboonein, was isolated together with boonein, loganin and loganic acid. The structure of isoboonein, established by spectroscopical methods, was confirmed by partial synthesis from loganic acid.

  Abstract Twp new secoiridoid glucosides, abeliosides A and B, were isolated along with cantleyoside and sylvestroside II from Abelia grandiflora. On the basis of spectral and chemical evidence, these new glucosides were identified as esters of secologanic acid with an iridoid lactone which may arise from loganin. Cantleyoside was also isolated from A. spathulata and A. serrata.
