Abstract An efficient water-based bismuth-mediated addition reaction of carbonyl compound with cyclic allylic halide was developed. The reactions proceeded smoothly in aqueous DMF in the presence of ammonium iodide to afford the corresponding syn -homoallylic alcohols in moderate to good yields with excellent diastereoselectivities (>99:1 syn : anti ). Reversal of product diastereoselectivity was observed

The Pd(II) complexes strongly chelated by two β-iminoenolate ligands were easily synthesized in only two steps, and purified based on their sublimable and highly stable property. The Pd(II) complexes anchored on a silica surface showed good catalytic activity in Suzuki-Miyaurareactions (up to 99% yield with 0.05 mol% catalyst). They tolerated a wide range of temperature (rt∼110 °C) and various solvents

Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction, and high catalytic activities of aryl bromides and chlorides are achieved in neatwater. The mercury drop test, poison experiments, and TEM analysis are used to demonstrate the formation of palladiumnanoparticles (NPs) after the catalytic reaction. The effects of pendantionicgroups in L1-L3 on the catalytic activities and structures of the palladium NPs are disclosed
