在5000毫升三口瓶中加入350克6-羟基-2-萘甲醛(2.0 mol)、278克盐酸羟胺(4.0 mol)以及3500毫升二甲基亚砜,搅拌并加热至100℃,保温反应1小时后降至室温。随后将反应液与大量水混合,并在搅拌下析出固体。过滤固体物质,用清水洗涤滤饼以得到湿的粗品。直接使用乙醇/水溶液进行重结晶,最终可获得灰白色精制品237克,收率为70%。
