  A facile synthesis of some novel ( E )-3-styryl-1-phenylcyclohepta[ c ]pyrazol-8(1 H )-ones via the condensation reaction of 3-cinnamoyltropolones with phenylhydrazine is described. All the synthesized compounds were obtained in good yields of 62–69 % and their structures were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, MS, and elemental analysis. This procedure offers easy access to tropone-fused pyrazole derivatives
