2,7-二溴菲醌是一种重要的医药中间体。它可用来合成一种可溶性聚5,10-菲并噻吩(简称PFT)。这种聚合物具有大的共轭共平面结构,带隙比聚芴类、聚硅芴类和聚咔唑类聚合物窄,符合太阳能电池给体材料的要求。此外,其结构中含有噻吩和羧基,有利于与富勒烯(PCBM)的相容性。上述两大特点使得聚5,10-菲并噻吩成为新型的太阳能电池材料。
制备2,7-二溴菲醌的合成步骤如下:在三口烧瓶中加入菲醌(6.24g,30mmol),再加入50ml浓硫酸,在0℃下缓慢滴加11.2g NBS(63mmol),反应2小时。随后,将反应液缓慢倒入冰水中,过滤后所得固体用二甲亚砜进行重结晶,最终得到5.6g橙色固体2,7-二溴菲醌,产率为50%。

Self-assembled aggregates of 7,10-dibromo-2,3-dicyanopyrazinophenanthrene which act as a new organophotocatalyst in combination with Ni catalyst for the Caryl–Oacyl cross-coupling reactions of carboxylic acids with aryl halides are described.
