The invention describes the use of a water-based UV curable inkjet printing ink wherein the ink is basic due to the presence of a tertiary amine, allowing the complete dissolution of an acid functional photoinitiator of Formula I or Formula IA (wherein R1, R2, R3, n, q, and y are as defined herein). This combination of photoinitiator and tertiary amine allows the rapid low dosage UV curing of a water-based UV formulation using a UV LED light source.

The present invention relates to novel 3-ketocoumarins with improved water compatibility, which are useful as photoinitiators and to compositions comprising said photoinitiators. The invention also relates to compositions comprising said novel 3-ketocoumarins and to a process for photopolymerizing comprising them.
The present invention concerns functionalized photoreactive compounds of formula (I), that are particularly useful in materials for the alignment of liquid crystals. Due to the adjunction of an electron withdrawing group to specific molecular systems bearing an unsaturation directly attached to two unsaturated ring systems, exceptionally high photosensitivities, excellent alignment properties as well as good mechanical robustness could be achieved in materials comprising said functionalized photoreactive compounds of the invention.
The present invention relates to certain carboxylic dithiocarbamic acid anhydride compounds compounds and their use as photoinitiators in living free-radical polymerization reactions. The invention also relates to curable or cross-linkable compositions comprising the carboxylic dithiocarbamic acid anhydride compounds of the invention.

A radiation curable inkjet ink containing at least one or two compounds selected from the group consisting of a polymerizable compound including a vinylether group or a vinylamide group, an amine synergist including an alkanolamine group or a dimethyl benzoate group, and a Norrish Type II photoinitiator including a photoinitiating moiety selected from the group consisting of a thioxanthone group, a benzophenone group, a ketocoumarin group and a camphorquinone group; and a singlet oxygen quencher including at least one specific amino-thioether group.
