    Here, we report the selective, catalytic isomerization of cis-1,2-diols to trans-diequatorial-1,2-diols. The method employs triphenylsilanethiol (Ph3SiSH) as a catalyst and proceeds under mild conditions in the presence of a photoredox catalyst and under blue light irradiation. The method is highly chemoselective, broadly functional group tolerant and provides concise access to trans-diol products

    A reworkable epoxy underfill is provided for use in an electronic packaged system which incorporates an integrated circuit, an organic printed wire board, and at least one eutectic solder joint formed therebetween. An exemplary embodiment of the encapsulant includes: a cycloaliphatic epoxide; an organic hardener; and a curing accelerator; wherein said cycloaliphatic epoxide includes a carbonate or carbamate group. The encapsulant can also include a filler, such as a silica filler. A method is also provided for forming the aforementioned reworkable epoxy underfills.

    A novel ester of (+) 6-methoxy-a-methyl-2-naphthalene acetic acid is described. Such ester is obtained by reaction of the (+) 6-methoxy-a-methyl-2-naphthalene acetic acid chloride as prepared by a well known technique, with (-) α4,α4-dimethyl-1-cyclohexene- 1,4-dimethanol. There are further described pharmaceutic compositions having mucosecretolytic, anti-inflammatory analgesic and anti-pyretic activity, which contain the novel ester.

    The present invention relates to the use of fragrance compositions, said fragrance compositions comprising fragrance compounds selected among: aldehydes, α, β- unsaturated aldehydes, alcohols, ketones, and mixtures thereof in any home and personal care product, each fragrance compound being able to restrict the formation of indole to less than 0.01ppm (wt/wt) after 24 hours incubation at room temperature in an airtight sealed vessel of suitable fresh human urine containing 0.28% by weight of each fragrance compound in order to prevent the development of indole based malodours from faecal and urine based soils.
