Structure–activity relationship study of asiatic acid derivatives against beta amyloid (Aβ)-induced neurotoxicity
摘要:
8 Semi-synthetic derivatives of asiatic acid were prepared and their protective effect against AP-induced neurotoxicity was evaluated. Among them, asiatic acid (2), and 4, 16 showed 97, 92 and 87% of protective effect, respectively. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.

Abstract Eight triterpenes were isolated from the methanol extracts of Eucalyptusperrinianaculturedcells as their methyl esters. The structures were elucidated by spectral data to be oleanolic acid, ursolic acid, maslinic acid, 2α-hydroxyursolic acid, hederagenin, 23-hydroxyursolic acid, arjunolic acid and asiatic acid.
Abstract From Rhododendron japonicum were isolated two diterpeneglucosides, pieroside B and grayanoside B, and two new triterpenes, 2α,3α,24-trihydroxy
摘要 从日本杜鹃花中分离得到两种二萜糖苷,pieroside B 和grayanoside B,以及两种新的三萜,2α,3α,24-trihydroxy

Abstract The trihydroxylated triterpeneacids arjunolic acid and asiatic acid were found in ether extracts of the woods of Terminalia brassii and of T. complanata. Asiatic acid has not previously been reported as a constituent of the genus Terminalia. A similar extract of T. impediens yielded the tetrahydroxy acid terminolic acid as the major constituent; this acid was also detected as a minor constituent

The object of the present invention is to provide asiatic acid derivatives, its pharmaceutically acceptable salts or esters. Asiatic acid, its trisaccharide asiaticoside and mddecassic acid, extracted from Centella asiatica have been used for a long time in the management of skin scars and chronic ulcers. In this invention, asiatic acid derivatives synthesized from asiatic acid show excellent wound-healing properties.
Asiatic acid derivatives having a modified A-ring, as represented by formula 1 are disclosed. ##STR1## Pharmaceutical compositions and methods of treating cancer and hepatotoxicity utilizing compounds of formula 1 are also disclosed.
