(α-Benzyloxycarbonyl-aminoacyl)benzotriazolides (Cbz = benzyloxycarbonyl) underwent a coupling reaction with α-hydrazino acids under microwave irradiation to form hybrid hydrazino dipeptides (42–71 %). Chiral acylations of β-N-Cbz-α-hydrazino acylbenzotriazolides were successfully carried out with N-, S-, O-, and C-nucleophiles in yields of 49–88 %.
Synthesis of lipid A monosaccharide analogues containing acidic amino acid: Exploring the structural basis for the endotoxic and antagonistic activities
endotoxic and antagonisticactivity of lipid A derivatives, we designed and synthesized lipid A analoguescontainingacidic amino acid residues in place of the non-reducing end phosphorylated glucosamine. Definite switching of the endotoxic or antagonisticactivity was observed depending on the difference of the acidic groups (phosphoric acid or carboxylic acid) in the lipid A analogues.

A process for the preparation of ω-alkoxycarbonylamino-α-aminoacids and α,ω orthogonally diprotected diaminoacids from α,ω-diaminoacids using 1-alkoxycarbonylbenzotriazoles as protecting agents is disclosed. In an alternative embodiment, carbamoylating agents in the presence of benzotriazoles are used instead of 1-alkoxycarbonylbenzotriazoles. This reaction is preferably applied to the preparation of ε-alkoxycarbonyllysines from lysine. A process for the preparation of t-butoxycarbonylbenzotriazoles and novel complexes of ω-alkoxycarbonylamino-α-aminoacids with benzotriazoles are also disclosed.
