Allyliccarbonates were more active than the corresponding allylic acetates in carbonylallylationusingPdCl2(PhCN)2-SnCl2, and the carbonylallylation by (E)-crotyl carbonate at 10 °C exhibited opposite diastereo-selectivity (anti-selectivity) to that by (E)-crotyl acetate at 60 ° C.
Diiron nonacarbonyl has been found to promote the catalytic coupling of allylic acetates with malonate ion in good yields. Preliminary results on the regioselectivity of these reactions argue against a mechanism involving direct nucleophilic attack on either (η3-allyl)Fe(CO)4+ or (η2-allyl acetate)Fe(CO)4 complexes.
Palladium(0)–triphenylphosphine complexes catalyzed the allylicexchange reaction of allylicesters, phenyl ethers, and isoureas with imides such as phthalimide to give N-allylic products. Among them, O-allylic isoureas were most effective in exchanging the allylicgroup of more complex structure. N-Allylic derivatives were also obtained by the telomerization of butadiene or allene with phthalimide
