  Abstracts Several bisabolane sesquiterpenes, (±)-curcumene, (±)-curcuphenol, (±)-curcudiol and (±)-curcuhydroquinone, have been synthesized in racemic form and fully characterized. The salient characteristic of our approach is that a Johnson-Claisen arrangement was involved as a key step.
