Synthesis of turbomicin-based alkaloids through infrared light-induced multicomponent reactions and assessment of their cytotoxic and antifungal bioactivity
elaborated compounds (> 103 Da) showed an antifungal effect against C. parapsilosis and C. neoformans at a concentration of 2.4 mM comparable to ketoconazole (22 vs. 20 mm). In contrast, its lower molecular weight homologous (< 500 Da) exhibited substantially the best cytotoxic effect against the growth of the colon adenocarcinoma cell lines SW620 and WS408 (IC50 = 12.56 ± 3.3 μmol and 13.9 ± 2.7 μmol)

Two novel binuclear sulfonic-functionalized ionic liquids: Influence of anion and carbon-spacer on catalytic efficiency for one-pot synthesis of bis(indolyl)methanes
from pyrazinium, piperazinium, benzimidazolium, imidazolium mono- or di-cation containing chloride and hydrogen sulfate as counter anion under optimized conditions. It was proved that the new ionic liquids containing two sulfonic imidazole moieties with four-carbon spacer as well as hydrogen sulfate as acidic counter anion were superior to the previously reported ionic liquids.

A new, facile, efficient, “green” and chemoselective procedure for the synthesis of indole derivatives has been developed with pulverization-activation method catalyzed by Bi(NO3)3·5H2O (PAMC- Bi(NO3)3·5H2O) through grinding of indoles with aldehydes or Michael acceptors in the presence of catalytic amounts of Bi(NO3)3·5H2O undersolvent-freeconditions.
