Abstract A newtriterpenoid saponin, 3-O-[α- l -arabinopyranosyl(l→2)-β- d -quinovopyranosyl]-quinovic acid-27-O-[β- d -glucopyranosyl]ester, along with two known compounds, 3-O-[β- d -glucopyranosyl]-β-sitosterol and erythrodiol-3-caffeate have been isolated from Zygophyllum propinquum and identified on the basis of spectroscopic and chemicalevidence.
