(+)-Tricyclo[4.3.0.03,8]nonane (“twist-brendane”) was synthesized via (+)-tricyclo[4.3.0.03,8]nonan-9-one from (+)-endo-2-carboxybicyclo[2.2.2]oct-5-ene. Optically active derivatives of twist-brendane with two functional groups such as (−)-2,9-twist-brendanedione and (−)-9-methylenetwist-brendan-2-one were synthesized from (−)-endo-2-carboxybicyclo[2.2.2]oct-5-ene.
