  The synthesis of dihydrojunenol (II) from (—)-5β-hydroxy-4β,7β(H)-eudesman-3-one (III) is reported, and the absolute configuration of junenol itself therefore confirmed as V. A method of removing the oxygen function at position 3 in 3,6-dioxygenated eudesmanes is described.
