  在三甲基甲硅烷基氯（TMSCl）存在下用Mg金属处理α，β-不饱和酮可轻松实现区域选择性还原二聚，得到相应的双（甲硅烷基烯醇醚），1,6-双（三甲基甲硅烷氧基）-1,5 -dienes。在TMSC1存在下，类似的Mg促进的1，3-环二酮的还原还原二聚，然后酸催化的水解导致以中等至良好的收率选择性地形成相应的1，6-二酮-2，4-二烯。

  choride (TMSCl) brought about facile and regioselective reductive dimerization to give the corresponding bis(silyl enol ethers), 1,6-bis(trimethylsilyloxy)-1,5-dienes. Similar Mg-promoted reductive dimerization of 1,3-cyclic diketones in the presence of TMSCl followed by acid-catalyzed hydrolysis led to selective formation of the corresponding 1,6-diketo-2,4-dienes in moderate to good yields.
