    [EN] This invention relates to the preparation of racemic and enantiomeric 1-(pyridyl)-2-cyclohexylethylamine and, in particular, the separation of (+)-(S)- or (-)-(R)-1-(2-pyridyl)-2-cyclohexylethylamine from a racemic mixture of -1-(R,S)-(2-pyridyl)-2-cyclohexylethylamine. According to this invention, the separation of a racemic mixture of 1-(pyridyl)-2-cyclohexylethylamine is carried out using 3-bromocamphor-8-sulfonic acid (BCSA). This invention also relates to a process for preparing a racemic mixture of 1-(pyridyl)-2-cyclohexylethylamine and free BCSA from readily available starting materials.
