An easy, efficient, flexible modular synthesis of a new family of chiral C2-symmetrical ferrocenyl diphosphines (FERRIPHOS) is described. These newligands gave high enantioselectivities (up to 99.4% ee) in the rhodium-catalyzed hydrogenation of different enamide derivatives.
