  The evaluation of a range of enantiomerically pure NHCs, prepared in situ from imidazolinium or triazolium salt precatalysts, to promote the catalytic enantioselective Steglich rearrangement of oxazolyl carbonates to their C-carboxyazlactones, is reported.
