  Fluorinated diisocyanates of the general structure OCN(CH2)2(CF2)n(CH2)2NCO were prepared from alpha,omega-diiodoperfluoroalkanes by insertion of ethylene into the CF2-I bond, displacement of the iodo groups with azide, reduction of the resulting azide groups to amines, and phosgenation of the diamine.
