  The electrocyclisation of allenyldiene easily obtained from hydroxy-beta-ionone has been studied with the aim to set up an efficient access to polyhydroxylated decalinic systems. Some aspects of the stereoselectivity of this reaction are discussed and the transformation into valuable highly functionalized labdane precursors is described.
