A study of some transition metal complexes of salicylidene 2-picoloyl hydrazone Schiff base and related ligands

Co(II), Mn(II), oxovanadium(IV), oxovanadium(V) and Pd(II) complexes have been prepared and their stereochemistries identified. Flexidentate behaviour of these ligands have also been examined. Under different reaction conditions, the ligands exhibit neutral, monobasic and dibasic tridentate character. Models throw light on the mode of attachment of the ligands to the metal ions.
