Selectfluor-mediated intermolecular C–O crosscouplingreaction for the synthesis of N-hydroxyimide esters was developed for the first time. The reaction is applicable to the coupling of readily available aryl and alkyl aldehydes with N-hydroxyphthalimide (NHPI) and N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHSI).
