The title compound has been shown to rearrange under the influence of anhydrous aluminium bromide in homogeneous solution in chlorobenzene. The products are similar to those obtained in the rearrangement, under analogous conditions, of phenyl benzoate, except that migration to the para-position in the case of the title ester has not been established.
