    Synthesis, characterization of mono- and binuclear ruthenium(II) complexes with the potential O and S donor ligand 1,1′,2,2′- ethanetetra(thioglycolic acid) and their reactivity with π-acidic ligands
    摘要:
    Synthesis of mono- and binuclear Ru(II) complexes of the composition [RuL(H2O)] (1) and [Ru2L(H2O)2] (2), where L = 1, 1',2,2'-ethanetetra(thioglycolic acid), are reported. The interactions of 1 and 2 with the pi-acidic ligands such as CO, PPh3 and NO+ form octahedral species. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-vis, 1[H], C-13{H-1} and P-31{H-1} NMR spectroscopy, conductance measurements and differential pulse voltammograms. The redox potential, ruthenium(II)/ruthenium(I), of the complexes become more positive with an increase in the pi-acidity of the ligand coordinated to the metal ion.

    The present invention relates to curatives for epoxy resins, and compositions (e.g. adhesives) containing such resins cured using the same methods of preparation and uses therefor. More specifically, the present invention relates to hybrid curatives for epoxy resins comprising both aromatic amine, phenol and/or phenyl ester moieties. A further aspect of the current invention relates to new imidazole catalysts that possess a combination of excellent cure latency as well as low cure temperature onset.
