Herein, we report our recent discovery of mechanochemical C−H arylation and alkylation reaction of indoles using 3 d transition metal (iron and cobalt) via online preparation of highly sensitive organomagnesium reagents. This method addresses the limitations of the 3 d transition-metal catalytic C−H functionalization, and provides an efficient, concise, and sustainable approach for this field.
