A chemo-, regio-, and stereoselective iron-catalyzed 1,4-hydroboration of dienes that affords gamma-disubstituted allylboranes has been developed. 1,4-Hydroboration of 2-substituted dienes forms allylborane products with (E)-trisubstituted double bonds exclusively.

Rh-Catalyzed Reductive Coupling Reaction of Aldehydes with Conjugated Dienes Promoted by Triethylborane
Rh(I) catalyzes the reductive coupling reaction of a wide variety of aldehydes with conjugateddienes in the presence of a stoichiometric amount of triethylborane to provide homoallyl alcohols in a single operation.
