4-叔丁基苄胺是氧化钛催化下苯胺在好氧光催化氧化条件下有效制备亚胺的化合物。4-叔丁基苄基胺则是通过TiO₂催化的需氧光催化氧化苄基胺来制备亚胺的有效中间体。
该产品为无色透明液体。对叔丁基苯胺是杀螨剂吡螨胺的重要中间体,并且还可用作农药中间体。
其生产方法包括:对叔丁基苄胺由叔丁基氯苄与乌洛托品反应,使用乙醇或丁醇作为溶剂,在30~35℃条件下反应4小时后加入盐酸,继续在45~50℃下反应2小时。冷却至室温后过滤掉氯化铵并脱除溶剂,再加碱处理即可得到产品。
此外,对叔丁基苯腈通过氢气还原或对叔丁基苯甲醛与氨气加压后再用氢气还原的方法也可制得该化合物。
