A general route for the selective preparation of diaryltin dichlorides, dibromides, and diiodides from readily accessible but sterically demanding, 2,6‐disubstituted or 2,4,6‐trisubstituted aryl Grignard reagents ArylMgBr and tin tetrachloride was developed.
