  A composition including a polymer covalently bound to at least one molecule, wherein the composition is detectable by exposure to electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength from about 75 nm to about 1000 nm. A method including detecting a disturbance in soil treated with such a composition by distinguishing between a disturbed portion of the treated soil and a non-disturbed portion of the treated soil.
