The asymmetric total synthesis of (-)-bipinnatin J and itsconversion into (+)-intricarene through a transannular 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition is described. In addition, the conversion of (-)-bipinnatin J into (+)-rubifolide and (+)-isoepilophodione B is reported.
