  Irradiation of (+)-cis-caran-5-one in ether, through quartz, affords the following volatile products: (–)-cis-m-menth-8-en-5-one, (–)-cis-m-menthan-5-one, (–)-m-menth-3-en-5-one, (–)-cis-m-menthan-cis-5-ol, (–)-cis-m-menthan-trans-5-ol, and cis-m-menth-8-en-cis-5-ol.
