Oxidation of natural γ-tocopherol and γ-tocotrienol gave mainly dimeric products, and their absolute configurations of diastereomeric 5,5′-bichromanyl dimers have been determined by NMR (NOE difference of OH to 2′-methyl) and chromatographic studies.
