  1,4-Migration of a phenyl group has been observed when 9-phenyl-10-t-butyl-9,10-dihydro-9-phospha-anthracene 7 was subjected to pyrolysis at 500° or to electron-impact. The reaction is proposed to occur via 1-phosphabicyclo[2.2.1]heptyl-type species such as 10.
