Synthesis, characterization, photophysical and photovoltaic properties of new donor–acceptor platinum(II) acetylide complexes

Six new solution processable platinum(II) acetylide donor-acceptor (D-A) triads end-capped by 4,7-di-2-thienyl-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole (DTBT) have been synthesized and characterized by photophysical and electrochemical methods. All these materials possess low bandgaps and strong UV/Vis absorption between 400 and 700 nm. Bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells based on these molecules as donor materials
