new 3‐(1‐acyl‐5‐aryl‐3‐pyrazolinyl)coumarins have been measured. These coumarin derivatives are found to be effective fluorophores and show high values of quantum yields of fluorescence both in nonpolar and in polar solvents. Novel co-initiator compositions for use in improved photopolymerizable compositions, photopolymerizable compositions and elements are disclosed. The co-initiator compositions comprise a photopolymerization activator and a 3-keto-substituted coumarin sensitizer which has maximum absorption of radiation between 250 and 550 nm. Photoinitiator compositions are described with comprise a compound which absorbs actinic radiation and directly or indirectly generates free radicals and a disulphide compound. The photoinitiator compositions have reduced sensitivity to oxygen and are preferably used in association with photographic imaging systems containing photosensitive microcapsules. Particularly preferred absorber compounds are ionic dye-counter ion complexes.
The present invention relates to an adhesive having high adhesiveness to a metal, especially a noble metal and a noble metal alloy. This adhesive comprises a thiouracil derivative typified by 6-methacryloyloxyhexyl 2-thiouracil-5-carboxylate, a radical-polymerizable monomer such as 2,2-bis(4-(methacryloxyethoxy)phenyl)propane, and a polymerization initiator, and as required, a filler.
The present invention discloses an adhesive for orthodontic attachments, which contains (A) a polymerizable monomer, (B) a polymerization initiator and (C) a fluorescent dye and, when cured, exhibits a fluorescence spectrum having a peak at 400 to 800 nm. As the polymerization initiator (B), there is preferably used a compound which generates a radical through the transfer of hydrogen between two components, or a compound which generates a radical species through intramolecular cleavage. As the fluorescent dye (C), a coumarin type dye is used preferably.
