An efficient method for the regioselective 1,2-hydrosilylation of N-heteroarenes is reported employing ruthenium complex [RuCl(PPh3)2(η5-(3-phenylindenylidene))] as catalyst. The developed protocol provides the efficient dearomatization of a broad range of substituted quinolines and related N-heteroarenes at low catalyst loading under mild conditions.
