The starting compounds were easily prepared from α-halo esters and aldehydes as a mixture of stereoisomers. A direct diastereoselective titanium-mediated intermolecular coupling of internal alkynes with dialkyl carbonates under Kulinkovich-type reaction conditions is presented.
