  Allylic and homoallylic esters of thioxoacetic acid (1b), when generated by thermal cleavage of various Diels–Alder adducts in solution (111 °C) or by flash vacuum pyrolysis (600 °C), undergo intramolecular ‘ene’ reactions with C–C bond formation.
