prefer the W-shaped (E,E)-structure. The covalency at the metal-pentadienyl bond in (C5H7)2M (M = Mg, Zn, Be), C5H7M (M = B(OR)2, Cu) or their alkyl derivatives increases the preference for the terminally σ-bonded W- or U-shape.
