Abstract A series of cobalt-containing alcohols and diols were prepared and characterized. Intramolecular hydrogen-bonding was observed for the cobalt-containing diols [Co 2 (CO) 6 (μ-η-(HO)R 1 R 2 CC CCR 1 R 2 (OH)] ( 1 : R 1 = CH 3 , R 2 = C 2 H 5 ; 2 : R 1 = CH 3 , R 2 = C 3 H 7 ), [Co 2 (CO) 6 (μ-η-(HO)Ph 2 CC CCPh 2 (OH)] ( 3 ) and [(μ-PPh 2 CH 2 PPh 2 )Co 2 (CO) 4 (μ-η-(HO)Ph 2 CC CCPh 2 (OH)]
