Suzuki cross-coupling of arylboronic acids mediated by a hydrosoluble Pd(0)/TPPTS catalyst

Suzuki cross-coupling reactions between a range of aryl bromides and boronic acids using a water-soluble Pd(0)/TPPTS catalyst occur under mild conditions with high efficiency. The process tolerates electron-rich and electron-poor substituents and provides an efficient access to sterically hindered biaryls. Good turnovers are observed and the catalyst can be recycled three times without loss of activity. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.

The conversion of potassium aryl trifluoroborates containing different functionalities into the corresponding aryl amines using a catalytic amount of CuSO4·5H2O is described. The methodology uses water as a solvent under aerobic conditions to give the products in good yields.

Complete (1)H, (13)C, (19)F and (11)BNMRspectraldata for 28 potassiumorganotrifluoroborates are described. The resonance for the carbon bearing the boron atom is described for most of the studied compounds. A modified (11)BNMR pulse sequence was used and better resolution was observed allowing the observation of (11)B-(19)F coupling constants for some of the studied compounds.

The synthesis of di(hetero)arylamines by a transition-metal-free cross-coupling between nitrosoarenes and boronicacids is reported. The procedure is experimentally simple, fast, mild, and scalable and has a wide functional group tolerance, including carbonyls, nitro, halogens, free OH and NH groups. It also permits the synthesis of sterically hindered compounds.

The present invention provides a glucose sensor having a glucose receptor containing a binding site of formula (I): wherein X, n, m and R1 are defined herein. Also provided is a glucose sensor molecule for use in such a glucose sensor, the glucose sensor molecule containing the binding site of formula (I). The binding site has been found to have particularly good selectivity for glucose.
