bidentate P-alkene ligands was observed in the presence of Lewis basic solvents, and model compounds of mono- and bis-solvated species (13, 14) were isolated. Cu formed trigonal-planar neutral (15−17) and cationic complexes (18, 19) of the general formulas [CuI(κ1P-alkene)2] and [Cu(κ1P-alkene)2BF4], respectively (P-alkene = 2, 4, 5). The cationic Rh species 11 catalyzed the 1,4-addition of arylboronic
The present invention relates to the manufacture of nitrile compounds from unsaturated organic compounds by reaction with hydrogen cyanide. It relates more particularly to the manufacture of nitrile compounds of use in the synthesis of adiponitrile, an important chemical intermediate in the manufacture of major chemical compounds, such as hexamethylenediamine and &egr;-caprolactam. The invention provides a process for the manufacture of organic compounds comprising at least one nitrile functional group by carrying out a hydrocyanation reaction between hydrogen cyanide and an organic compound comprising at least one ethylenic unsaturation. This reaction is carried out in the presence of a catalytic system comprising a metal element chosen from the group consisting of nickel, platinum and palladium and an organophosphorus ligand, the reaction medium additionally comprising an ionic liquid in the liquid state at least at the temperature at which the hydrocyanation reaction is carried out.

Structurally diversearomatic and aliphatic ionic liquids have been prepared via anion metathesis utilizing alkylammonium chlorides and trimethyl phosphate. Excellent oxygen-containing functional-group tolerance in preparation of potentially greener di- methyl phosphate ionic liquids has been demonstrated. For the first time, this method has been employed in the synthesis of dicationic imidazolium-based

Fifty-six ionicliquids were efficiently synthesized in parallel format under one-pot, solvent-freemicrowave-assisted synthesis. These compounds were evaluated as extracting agents of nitrogen-containing compounds from a real Diesel feed before being submitted to the hydrodesulfurization process to obtain ultralow sulfur Diesel. Our results showed that halogenated ionicliquids are an excellent alternative
The Diels-Alder reaction between cyclopentadiene and three dienophiles (acrolein, methyl acrylate and acrylonitrile) having different hydrogen bond acceptor abilities has been carried out in several ionic liquids and molecular solvents in order to obtain information about the factors affecting reactivity and selectivity. The solvent effects on these reactions are examined using multiparameter linear
