    The present disclosure provides an antibacterial hydrophilic compound. The antibacterial hydrophilic compound may react, induced by light through a hydrogen abstraction group in the structural formula thereof, with a C—H group and thus bind to a surface of a material having the C—H group (for example, chemical fibers such as polyester, chinlon, and the like; plastics, rubbers, and other similar materials), which can impart a durable antibacterial activity and hydrophilicity to the material. The antibacterial hydrophilic compound has a relatively strong binding force to the surface of the material without damaging the mechanical properties of the raw material. The present disclosure also provides a modified material that is modified by the antibacterial hydrophilic compound.

    Disclosed is a catalyst composition for polyurethane resin production which contains (A) triethylenediamine, (B) a specific polyisocyanurating catalyst and/or (C) a specific highly temperature-sensitive catalyst. By using this catalyst composition, a polyurethane resin can be molded with good curability, while suppressing initial reactivity. Consequently, a polyurethane resin having excellent moldability and fluidity can be produced with high productivity by using the catalyst composition. The thus-obtained polyurethane resin is suitably applicable to shoe soles. The component (B) is selected from the group consisting of alkali metal salts of carboxylic acids, quaternary ammonium compounds expressed as R 1 R 2 R 3 R 4 N + ,X − , N,N,N′-trimethylaminoethylethanolamine, and 2,4,6-tris(dimethylaminomethyl)phenol, while the component (C) is selected from the group consisting of triazole salts and benzotriazole salts of 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undecene-7 or 1,5-diazabicyclo[4.3.0]nonene-5. The mixing ratio of the component (B) and/or the component (C) to the component (A) is from 2% by weight to 60% by weight.

    The present invention relates to a polymer composition with an increased rate of oxygen-uptake by the presence of a co-catalyst and an oxidation catalyst. The invention further relates to a process to increase the rate of oxygen-scavenging in a composition containing a carbon-containing polymer, the composition obtained by this method and its use in the preparation of an oxygen-scavenging product. The present invention further relates to objects containing an oxygen scavenging layer containing such a composition.

    Heat-curable epoxy compositions comprise: (1) an epoxy compound having an average more than one epoxy group per molecule, (2) at least one unsaturated monomer selected from the group consisting of esters of ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acids, cyano-containing compounds, allyl compounds, olefins and diolefins, (3) a carboxyl-containing compound, (4) at least one epoxy curing accelerator, and (5) a free-radical curing agent. An unsaturated aromatic monomer, such as styrene, may additionally be present. The compositions may be moulded and cured by application of heat to produce formed articles.
