Bis(1,5-cyclooctadiene)nickel-tributylphosphine (1:1) catalyzed the vinylcyclopropane-cyclopentene rearrangement. Only such vinylcyclopropanes as those being capable of complexing with the catalyst (such as 1-substituted 1-cyclopropyl-1,3-butadienes and 1,1-dicyclopropylethylenes) were reactive.
