A one‐step synthetic method was developed for allylation of benzamides using Ni(COD)2/RCO2H and [Ni(μ‐H2O)(OOCCMe3)2(HOOCCMe3)2]2 (A′) catalytic system. Efficient, well‐defined, air and moisture‐stable Ni–pivalate complex was isolated and employed in catalytic allylation. The influence of solvent on product selectivity was also investigated.

reported that a nickel/phosphine catalyst allows the C–H allylation to occur effectively with the allyl site selectivity predominantly governed by steric effects. This reaction provides a facile and predictable route for the selective preparation of linear allylarenes from readily available benzamides and allyl phosphates.

possessing an N-(quinolin-8-yl)amide directing group are ortho-allylated with allylphenylether in the presence of an iron/diphosphine catalyst and an organometallic base at 50-70 °C. The reaction proceeds via fast iron-catalyzed C-H activation, followed by reaction of the resulting iron intermediate with the allylether in γ-selective fashion.
